Summary of Driver Education
Performance Drivers Club advanced driver education program is designed to provide a safe, structured environment for members to learn car control and driving techniques. For an event entry fee of less than a speeding ticket, members get to experience 100 minutes of adrenalin pumping high performance driver training with certified instructors. PDC events are organized for members to progressively improve their driving skills and graduate from novice to advance levels. There is no better approach than to responsibly explore and manage speed through high performance advanced driver education.

Instructor Candidate Application
The objective of Performance Drivers Club is to enable members to learn and experience the techniques of safe, high performance driving of their vehicles on a closed circuit in a non-competitive environment.

The graduation procress in skill development and participation should lead to the individual member's goal in ultimately achieving a fully certified PDC Instructor status. The selection and retention of those who will serve as teachers, role models and ambassadors of PDC (ie. the Instructors) are based on 8 criteria, all of which must be evidenced, which forms the basis of qualification to be a PDC Instructor Candidate:

  • Must be a member of Performance Drivers Club
  • Participated in at least 4 PDC hosted events
  • Must be a current advanced (Green) group driver.
  • Have participated a minimum of 4 track events in the last 12 months.
  • Have driven on at least 3 different tracks in the last 24 months.
  • Good knowledge in the dynamics of car performances.
  • Maturity and Attitude inside and outside of the car
  • EXCELLENT verbal communication skills.

The program of certifying qualified candidates to be Instructors requires the candidate to attend an Instructors Clinic and to pass 4 seperate Instructor Candidate Evaluations:

Evaluation 1 -
Candidate demonstrates sustained high performance driving skill (smoothness / technique / control / line / consistency).

Evaluation 2
Candidate Drives & Instructs various skill levels.

Evaluation 3
Instructor Drives & Candidate Instructs

Evaluation 4
Final evaluation with Chief Instructor covering evaluations 1, 2 & 3.

In summary, PDC looks for a combination of skills, attitude, leadership and commitment to supporting our Driver Education activities, and in selecting what we believe will be the BEST Instructors for our members.
